An Investigation and Research on English Student Teachers’ Literacy and Application of Artificial Intelligence

Abstract

This study aims to explore the literacy of artificial intelligence that English teacher trainees should have and the application of artificial intelligence in English teacher education. Through the analysis of questionnaires and interviews, this study finds that English student teachers have different levels of artificial intelligence literacy. Many have some knowledge and can use relevant tools, but their knowledge and experience of AI are insufficient, and their views on its role in education also vary. Therefore, English student teachers need to improve their knowledge, skills and attitudes of artificial intelligence in order to adapt to the development needs of future education. Meanwhile, it has been found that the application of artificial intelligence in English teacher education can improve teaching efficiency, personalize learning experience, and provide teachers with more teaching resources and support. In the future, the integration of artificial intelligence into English teacher education should be further explored in order to cultivate high-quality English teachers with innovative spirit and practical ability.
